Countries seek to attract as much foreign direct investment (FDI) as possible because of its importance as one of the factors for motivating economic development and achieving its sustainability, .
Global FDI flows have fluctuated over the years between growth, decline, or stay stable. FDI motivations, targets, directions, concentrations, and value have changed to cope with the changes in the global market which affected global FDI markets and make them affected by financial crises, diseases, inflationary pressures, geopolitical turmoil, political tensions, and recession threats. So, it is necessary to check out the global FDI developments, trends, prospects and its determinants.
The Egyptian government tried to attract FDI as possible and give a supportive investment environment, including the issuance of the Investment Guarantees and Incentives Law and the availability of good investment opportunities, constructions, and competitive infrastructure.
The research is trying to answer the questions: "Are the FDI flows to Egypt at the desired level, and suitable for the economic development requirements?" Does FDI flow to Egypt following the same path of FDI global flow, and what is Egypt's share from them? so, the study is going to analyze the current situation of FDI flows in Egypt by collecting data from 2005 to 2023, knowing its determinants by surveying the latest studies in this field to know the most frequent determinants and proved their significance in previous studies and evaluating the indicators of the Egyptian FDI environment during the previous years by using the international indexes especially Doing Business Report,
